Cladding
Sharp Lines, Serious Protection.
The right cladding changes how a building looks and shields it from coastal weather. We install systems that do both.
Atlas Roofing installs and replaces wall cladding on residential and commercial buildings across Hervey Bay and the Fraser Coast, using coastal-grade materials specified for salt-air exposure. Cladding is typically installed alongside or matched to an existing roofline for a consistent finish.
Cladding does two jobs at once. It is the weather skin that keeps wind-driven rain out of the wall structure, and it is the single biggest visual decision on a building's exterior. Get the specification wrong on a coastal site and you will be looking at a corroding feature wall in a few years.
We install to the same standard as our roofing, which mostly comes down to detail: correct fixing for the wind classification, proper drainage and ventilation behind the sheet, and flashings at every opening and junction that actually shed water rather than collecting it.
Because we are roofers, cladding and roof are specified together. Profiles and colours are matched across both, and the junction where the two meet is detailed by the same team that did the roof, rather than being two trades' problem and therefore nobody's.

Wall Cladding Questions
What cladding is best for a coastal Queensland home?
Coastal-grade Colorbond and comparable pre-finished steel systems perform well in salt air when the grade is matched to your distance from the water. The specification matters more than the brand. We assess your site exposure before recommending a product.
Can you clad just one section or feature wall?
Yes. Partial cladding on a feature wall, entry or extension is common, and matching it to the existing roof profile and colour is the part that makes it look deliberate rather than added on.
Do you re-clad buildings with existing failed cladding?
Yes. Re-cladding includes stripping the old system, inspecting and repairing the structure and any water damage behind it, and installing the new system with corrected flashing and drainage detail.
Can cladding and roofing be done at the same time?
It is usually the smart way to do it. Access, scaffolding and set-up costs are shared across both, the profiles and colours are specified together, and the roof-to-wall junction is detailed by one team instead of two.
