Re-Roofing
A New Roof, Handled End To End.
Old roof off, site kept safe and clean, new roof on, every scrap of rubbish gone. Most homes are finished in 3 to 5 days.
Atlas Roofing replaces residential and commercial roofs across Hervey Bay and the Fraser Coast, including tile-to-metal conversions. A typical residential re-roof takes 3 to 5 days from tear-off to clean-up, is quoted as a fixed written price, and comes with a written workmanship guarantee alongside the manufacturer warranty on Colorbond materials.
A re-roof is the single biggest thing you can do for a house that is losing the fight against the weather. It is also disruptive if it is run badly, which is why we manage the whole job rather than handing you a sequence of subcontractors and a shrug.
The sequence is straightforward. We strip the old roof, inspect and repair the battens and structure underneath while it is exposed, install new insulation and sarking where specified, then lay the new sheeting, flashings and capping. Old material goes straight into our bins, not onto your lawn for a fortnight.
Tile-to-metal conversion is common on the Fraser Coast, and for good reason. Metal is lighter on the structure, sheds water faster in heavy summer rain, handles cyclonic wind ratings, and does not host the moss and lichen that shorten a tiled roof's life in a humid coastal climate.

Roof Replacement & Re-Roofing Questions
How long does a re-roof take?
Most residential re-roofs take 3 to 5 days, depending on the size of the roof, its pitch and complexity, access, and the weather. You get a clear timeline with your quote, and if anything shifts you hear it from us first.
Can I stay in the house during a re-roof?
Yes. Almost all of our clients stay put. It is noisy during the day and your roof is open for part of it, so we sequence the work to keep the house weather-tight overnight. You will need to keep clear of the work zone and move cars off the driveway.
How much does a new roof cost in Hervey Bay?
Size, pitch, material, access and the condition of the structure underneath all change the number, which is why we quote on-site rather than guessing over the phone. The quote is free, itemised and written, and the price we quote is the price you pay.
Is Colorbond the best choice for a coastal roof?
For most Fraser Coast homes, yes. Colorbond steel is available in coastal-grade specifications built for salt air, carries high wind ratings suited to cyclone-prone areas, and is significantly lighter than tile. We specify the grade to your distance from the water.
